Accepted The Offer

After much to and fro ( their HR dept swearing blind they had couriered a package and later finding out they hadn't ) I have officially accepted the job offer from the Canadian company.

Sticking point no.1 was clarification of health cover. They are paying for cover for myself and family for the 3 month waiting period prior to NB Medicare kicking in and then I have the option of adding family to the company scheme with 3 different levels of cover.

Sticking point no.2 was clarification of what was covered for the relocation package they offered me. They are covering flights, estate agents fees in the UK, shipping house contents ( and dog ), solicitors fees here and in Canada and a few other bits which may crop up along the way. Extremely generous I thought - hence I didn't even start to negotiate vacation or salary.

They are meeting withan immigration lawyer today to fill out the LMO forms to forward to Service Canada in Moncton, so if that doesn't come through that will be the end of that.

Keep getting really positive emails from them and they seem really pleased that I have accepted. Looks good, just waiting for the poo to hit the fan in my usual British way ! :o

If all goes swimmingly and to plan I guess sometime in April in Moncton.

Yep the relocation was purely a bonus. I wouldn't have declined the job offer if there wasn't one.

Point of clarification... are you certain that there even is a 3 month waiting period? There might not be in your case.
