ACCA and canada(ontario)

Hi,
i'm currently living in the uk, im a part qualified ACCA and have 2.5 years of experience in a public limited company as an accountant, i have recently got married, we both are canadian citizens and we wanted to move back to canada specifically ontario/toronto. i wanted to know that after completion of my acca and further more work experience is it really hard to find a job in canada or there are chances that it would be easier? im aware that you have to use the MRA to convert acca to cga but can you still find a job in a relevant field of work? i'm just a little confused as to how things work out in canada and i would really appreciate if anyone could give me some guidance.
thanks you very much. :)

Sorry - not my province. I think someone told me once that the UK is closer to the East Coast than we are right out in the West. Don't really know if that's true.

Welcome to BE!

If you take a look at the link below, it will give you the outlook for employment in that field in the Toronto area, together with job vacancies and under the 'Education & Job requirements' it lists what registration or certification is needed (under Ontario tab). At present there are 132 Accountancy jobs in the Toronto area, 267 in Ontario. You could also look at the wiki regarding job hunting: http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Catego...Hunting-Canada

For what it's worth, I think in my wife's department she only has two other "qualified" accountants in her team. The rest are either studying or at the Accounts Clerk/Administrator level. Mind you this is in a broadly non-commercial environment so can't really speak for commerce and industry.

Good luck though.
