Had a phone interview the other week, and 4 days later got an e-mail saying "we are very keen, would you like to come to Canada for a second interview?"

Of course, I jumped at the chance and have my flights booked. My question is, has anyone else gone to Canada for a 2nd interview after a phone interview? is it likely they want to offer me the job but just want to see if my face fits?

Trying not to get too excited and count my chickens and all that, but its really hard to stay grounded!!!

I'd use the opportunity to try and arrange as many other interviews as you can while you're there. That's what I did- 11 interviews in 5 days. Once the first one was sorted, and flights arranged, other companies were more prepared to talk. Before you go, might be a good idea to know what's involved from their part if they decide to offer you a job- LMO process etc.

I guess you're in with a chance, but right now it's all speculation. Are they paying your expenses to come to Canada? Are you able to work in Canada or do you still have to go through the process?

they say they will pay my expenses if i get the job. would look at coming over on a TWP and applying for PR straight away. (the company is aware of this and don't seem put off...)
