12 degrees!

After that one day last Tuesday at 29 below, today I sat out on the deck in the sun without a jacket on. Its now 4 pm and its still 12 above.

That is what you have to get used to when you move to the prairies!

Isn't it utterley utterley amazing??? I went to work today in a cardi and I didn't really need that...no frost let alone snow...car window open and fresh air just blowin'......bliss..... and on the early shift I get to see the sun coming up just like I do in the summer on the night shift...
.....an excellent couple of days...be nie if that was winter over and done with!!! OK, guess not

Yes, but the way I figure it - one more day like yesterday is one less day of snow. And the closer we get to December - the less days with snow!!!

Sorry to say that, but the older I get, the more I dislike it. When I first got here and had young kids and they loved going outside, I never noticed the inconvenience of the snow. I mostly started noticing it when I took early retirement and discovered that unless you want to break something valuable - like an arm or a leg - you can't really go for a walk when the streets are icy.

Sad to say but I'm with you on this one. Dog walking goes to pot as does exercise with fresh air. The roads here in Swift Current doen't get done that efficiently and by the end of winter is just sheet ice and I hate that feeling of not being in control of the car - or me for that matter. The first time the snow comes down each year is majical for the first half hour then I remember that each year I slip and badly hurt myself....like slipping under the truck or bashing my head open. I was rather hoping that this past week was the winter over and done with.....PAH! No chance
