Post *Nursery Nurse in Nova Scotia*

hi
Can anybody enlighten me, I currently hold a NNEB National Diploma in nursery nursing in the U.K .
I was hoping to relocate to the Halifax area with my family in the near future, and was hoping to find employment in daycare, Similar to the job im currently doing in the U.K * but hopes have been dashed today as I have been informed that my NNEB Diploma would not be recognised in NS.
I feel our dream is slipping away before our adventure has begun

This is not uncommon. It doesn't mean though that this should be the end of anything. Just another hurdle to jump.

You could apply to have the NNEB qualification "recognised" as the equivalent of the ECE - http://www.bcit.ca/ices/

http://www.gov.ns.ca/coms/families/p...pplication.pdf

More information here: http://www.ccsc-cssge.ca/english/guide/about.cfm

and here: http://www.ccsc-cssge.ca/english/gui...=7&browse=true

and here: http://www.credentials.gc.ca/individuals/credential.asp // http://www.cicic.ca/413/assessment-o...-canada.canada

Additionally : http://www.ccsc-cssge.ca/english/guide/pdf/Pathways.pdf page 49 for international qualification recognition.

Individuals with international credentials must complete the ECE Equivalency Application Form, and provide proof of prior training and experience. The individual must submit the application and related documentation to the Early Childhood Development Branch for review. The application is assessed based on comparability to the specific requirements for equivalent of ECE in Nova Scotia. Upon submission of documentation from an international credential assessment review, the application may be assessed as a 'post-secondary standard ECE'.
