Condo fees in Toronto, generally range from 40 to 70 cents per square foot in downtown. These include your amenity fees (pool, gym, communal areas etc,) maintenance and your utility bills (gas, electric, AC, heating.)

We rented a town house in Scarborough. The owner of the house was paying $420 a month condo fees, plus property tax. We had to clear snow and mow our own back garden for that. This was not in a sought after area like Queens Quay, so IMO $650 is a good deal if downtown.

I'm old fashioned. I like to be able to walk around my four walls, and I'm no good at levitation.

What's more I don't want to share my pool or my garden, sorry my yard, with riff-raff.

And another thing: condos / stratas are an extremely bad longer term investment.

Just my million dollars worth.
