Re: You Can't Come In !
This is to do with Covid and the new, supposedly mutant, strain which has been identified in the UK. Just read as far as the 3rd or 4th paragraph. It's nothing to do with Brexit, but nice try at trolling, Scot.

Covid + Brexit means that the Little Englanders are confined to England. What hacks me off is that they are consigning us in Scotland to the same fate ! Roll on Independence and membership of EFTA.

"Trolling" for some people means posting opinions and viewpoints not found in The Daily Mail !

Re: You Can't Come In !
If you aren't already aware, there is a curfew and further travel restrictions from the UK coming in, as of tomorrow. From the official website government.nl
On Saturday 23 January a night-time curfew will come into force throughout the Netherlands. The House of Representatives consented to this new measure yesterday. This means that everyone has to stay inside between 21.00 and 4.30. The idea behind the night-time curfew is that people will visit or meet up with each other less often. This will help slow the spread of coronavirus. This is important because the government is gravely concerned about the spread of coronavirus variants that are even more infectious than the virus we are already familiar with in the Netherlands. We need to delay these new variants from gaining the upper hand for as long as possible.
While the curfew is in force, people are not permitted to be outdoors between 21.00 and 4.30. The measure will apply until 4.30 on 10 February.
For travellers from countries outside the EU, a travel ban has been in force since March 2020. The government has decided to reduce the number of exemptions from this ban. As a result;

Here's the part I couldn't find on the government website
The Netherlands bans flights from the UK
This applies to flights and passengers on ferries. DFDS carries this
Schiphol has no flights from the UK tomorrow (some BA flights are there marked as cancelled) https://www.schiphol.nl/en/arrivals/
For now, it seems Eurostar could be the only way in.

HOOK OF HOLLAND - HARWICH

TIMETABLE (ALL TIMES ARE LOCAL TIMES)- Until January 25, the Stena Hollandica sails according to 'freight only' timetable.
