My experience is that you will almost always do anything better than someone who you get in to do it - especially in Australia.

It will usually take longer though.

That maybe true in your little part of Australia, it's my experience that there are good & bad tradespeople worldwide.
Some of the finest trades I've seen are Aussies.

OK Soapy - I am now actually missing having a house... my rental is very tatty and crap! Perhaps I can bespoke the to-be-bought campervan?! LOL!

Your decking is bloody well done you know.. watched Viv's hubby put in decking and it was quite a thankless and relentless job! (of course, didnt just stand there for hours literally watching.. I mean, that would be odd) but it came along very slowly but surely!

i nearly broke me doing it pal. i couldnt walk right for months after. did some damage i think, but like every great man i did some DIY on myself and ignored it lol
to be honest i've been lucky, my son who has never done anything like this has been the grafter and hes learned a lot from me ordering him about lol

ah... so there is a reason to have kids? Mine are teenagers.. I need some happy positive thoughts to prevent me from doing serious damage to them! haha!
