From your list I would highly recommend 'The Living End'

They are one of my favourites, along with Regurgitator.

A new band that have split already called Rogue Traders have some funky songs.

The Howling Bells are simply majestic, give 'em a go ...

The Pre-sets are rocking my Toyota Corolla also.

Hilltop Hoods and Pendulum - an oasis of quality music in a desert of tedious middle of the road soft rock three chord shite.

Ooooh... just went onto the Living End myspace. I LIKE. \m/

It reminds me that I forgot to put Wolfmother on my list.

And yes, Boweaver, I love acoustic stuff too - cheers for the recommendations in that area.

Men at Work, Inxs - I'd add Midnight Oil to that!

I stand corrected. I think he was about 10/11 when he moved here, but he still has a strong US accent.

Did you catch the Denton interview last year? He may have held on to his accent so he didn't lose his cultural identity as that's something he seems to value.

Here's a link to a segment of it.

Jimmy Barnes came to Australia when he was about five years old or something and formed Cold Chisel here in Australia with ozzie band. AC/DC started in oz too, and original lead singer Bon Scott was also a scot who came to australia as a small child.
