Yeah, unless you speak french and realise how bloody the anthem is!

something like "do you hear the soldiers roaring, coming to your arms to slit the throat of your son and women" and "let the impure blood, soak our fields!"

it's my favourite anthem, of course.

and I prefer the US anthem to the UK one (which is just kissing the ass of the monarch).

God Save the Queen is soooo dreary. At least the Aussie tune is a bit more uplifting. French tune is lovely but so bloodthirsty and inappropriate in this day and age. As I chose to become and Aussie I will now sing the national anthem. I was very proud that my daughter then age 16 got chosen to sing it accapella in Fiji before the start of a rugby international- and she wasn't even an Aussie then!
