But that is one reason why we, especially in the Bayside, have water, we have been on water restrictions for a long time, longer than Brisbane Council, and planned for shortages well in advance.
A quote from the Queensland Water Commission:
Redlands has been exempt from Extreme and High Level Restrictions and given a bulk water discount, as recognition of Redland Council’s established water infrastructure and supply.

Still nothing here apart from one grey cloud which quickly scarped this morning so still crispy crispy crispy.

We landed a year ago and the dam levels were around 38%, by the start of winter we were at nearly 80%, but that was the first time in years they'd been that high. And then the rain just completely stopped. You can't assume anywhere here is drought proof, apart from maybe Beenleigh. I swear there's a storm magnet over that place.....

Very serious.

However, now that Brisbane are building a pipe to pinch our water... who knows what the future holds....

Getting a years worth of rain in the space of a couple of days (twice) earlier in the year made a rather significant impact on the dam levels.

I was completely confounded in 2006 here in the UK when we had 9 months of hosepipe bans and the water storage levels were'nt even that low. Over cautious they were.
