I thought that was a Yankee term?
Don't tell me that the French encourage the term too?
There is a school of thought that Armies that spend too much time carryin' on - warfacin', and singin' too, could better expend the energy in tabbing to the battefield...
However in the Legion, I guess the singing is part of the tradition - in teaching the Roast Beefs and assorted others, to learn - French - so long may it continue!
