Actually the poster in question has been spoken to more than once about it. Just because its not done in public doesn't mean it doesn't happen. It might help if more people reported comments they find offensive instead of expecting the mods to be mind-readers.

Let's be honest...it's just being pedantic to exclude abuse based on nationality from the common definition of racism...it's all one and the same.
The Racial Discrimination Act which has been around probably a little bit longer than the time people have been obsessed with the term 'PC brigade' covers acts which are done because of the race, colour or national or ethnic origin of the other person or some or all of the people in the group. |

As a pedant I'm not sure it is the same. I thinking mixing the two in together cheapens the word racist and waters it down for real racism + includes things that are not racist at all. Just because the act was written that way does not make it racism in fact IMO - just legally.

Apparently us immigrants think we can come to australia and take over the place. So there ya go. Not sure what he meant really, apart from his prime minister is welsh and his head of state is English. If they said that to me, I'd simply tell them that there are so many Australians in London that they are stealing jobs from the Saffers & Kiwis and taking over the place. |

What I was commenting on was the oft used BE retort of '<insert nationality> is not a race'. And what I'm saying is if someone hates someone else just because they're Indian OR they hate all South Asians there's really no difference. |

Just to be clear...I wasn't suggesting the example given by the OP was 'racist'.

You sure know how to pick your threads ;) From memory that retort is almost always used when the two people in question are the same race.
