Xmas Spider ...

Just seen our first one of these little fellows with his / her Xmas colourings. Had bundles of Huntsmen, and some beasts too! ... and we're almost used to them now, but in 21 months not seen an Xmas spider yet!

Bless! ... poor little thing.

Only messing ... :D

It's the first I've seen and it is amazing how small they are, and when you compare to the Huntsman, and what each can do to you!

This pic does no justice as this chap was 5" easy!

Too late for that ... :o ... altho to be honest I will always try and capture and set free, but anything that can do that kinda damage gets the Mortein, oh and Cockroaches of course.

Ahhhhh, all part of the package ennit!

We get heaps of Huntsmen but as I say this is the first Redback on our turf. Well, in the garage actually and the daughter who uptil now has been living in there. Funny enough, she now wants to move back into the house! ...lol

Funny that.

They have these trampoline like webs and they're under the floor or wherever. Then they bounce down on their prey and pick it up and take it back to the web. They don't mean to get in the human's way.

I quite like them... though when one dropped off the kids bikes, the first instinct was to step on it.
I didn't even stop to photograph it, which is unusual for me.

Set a lovely wolf spider free last night... thought it was one of the children's plastic ones on the playroom floor until it moved...

Oh I know what you mean, I got called a loser for taking pics of it instead of removing it! ...lol

Did amaze me how 1 squirt of Mortein and it stopped in it's tracks, just like Huntsmen! ... Spent plenty of time running around with the can chasing them! ... and I KNOW I should leave them be, as THEY will take care of most of the rest, but it's the size ...lol

I like the huntsmen... we leave them in the house.

Yeah as I say we KNOW we should leave them, but they're just too big for my liking thank you. Bloody quick too!

Outside is fine, but anything that enter's get's it I'm afraid.
