Don't forget to watch the Xtra Factor as well, they seem to add in a lot of the other auditions in there... kinda like the show is split into two programs every Sat night.

Re: X factor pleaseeeeeee

I believe that another change they are making to the show is that unlike previous years, the voting that happens on a Sat night now goes through to the Sunday and there is a 30min or 1 hour show on the Sunday evening with the results. So no more results on a Sat night - you have to download another show on Sunday!

Not being computer literate at all, I take it I can download a show and transfer to DVD to watch on the TV?

If you've got a laptop you can buy a HDMI lead and plug it in to the laptop and the TV and it screens from the laptop straight to the TV.

I'm not overly techy either and I managed it!

I've just watched it.. got it from UKNova.. tis my Coronation Street life line too.. don't have any Aussie TV so I suppose Corrie and crap like X factor is my only achilles heel! ;)

Have to say me and my daughter had a good weep at the bloke who's brother died of lung cancer.. the one who is now looking after his nephew and did extremely well... we both sat there tears in our eyes! :o:o

Anyway... not sure how long I will watch it for, but for now it'll do!

Yes you can, but it's not as easy as just copying the file to a DVD and then playing it. You need some (free) software that will convert the .avi file as most of them are into a DVD package that a DVD player will recognise. This conversion will sometimes lose some quality as well, so it's better if you can play it from your computer but that is not always feasible.

avi2dvd seems to be good. I use purchased software and not tried this but this is basically what you need to use. You then have a DVD of the programme (so best to use a rewritable one so you do not waste a DVD and it can be reused) which can then be played as normal and erased when the next episode comes along.

Easiest way by far if you wanna copy a downloaded file to a DVD is......NOT TO COPY IT.....buy yourself a DIVX dvd player and presto.
Also you will find the cheapest dvd players have allot more features than more expensive players, the DIVX feature is in some of the cheapest dvd players.
Also if you have an external hardrive, again a dvd player/divx player will automatically play your downloaded fies without any copying needed.

Get Apple TV - if you're an apple user. You can transfer all your movies, shows, photos, watch Youtube etc on your tv.

Change your IP(Auspedia is recognising that you are on the net from outside the UK).
Must have a look at that Auspedia thing.
