Unfortunately most restaurants will have roaches mainly because they dont keep up with the baiting.Eating them does not harm you but isnt a nice thought.Signs of roaches on your food is a collection of black spec marks altogether and food that looks like it has disintegrated around the edge, especially things like bread or biscuits.Would I go back there again if i found one in my food.No.

The leg wasn't on the food as such the food comes out in large dishes and your given smaller bowls so you can share the meals as they are really large and the leg was in the smaller bowl. The problem I have is just how the hell did just a leg get there? The restaurant has a very high turnover so I'd imagine the bowls are being washed regularly.... Which means it was a fresh one

I don't think I'll be hurrying back it may take some time for me to get over it, a bit like the time I bought rice from woollies and as I popped it into the pan noticed it had wriggly things in it.. Took me two yrs before I could eat rice again.

I'm torn between either calling environmental health or to book a table. Help me!

Call environmental health - then, when it's all been cleaned up, sales have plummeted so they've reduced prices, book a table.

Cockroaches on the shelves I would say. They are part and parcel of Australia but all restaurants should take steps to be pest free. There will be the odd one which gets through. At least it was just a leg and not the whole dying creature. Would signify it was a cleanliness error...

Did you report it? To the restaurant I mean?

Ewwww. I doubt it. The food would have to be spectacular.

And yes, I'm aware that most restaurants here are probably waging an ongoing battle with roaches. They're even in the grocery stores...I had one run by my foot in the Woolies checkout queue last year, but still, having parts in my food would put me off for quite a while.

I would be more concerned about where the rest of the cockroach was to be honest.
