let me explain
Just before we jetted off on our hols to lovley QLD, we invited a fair fews friends around for the evening!
We told them any time from 6pm and i would do small finger food.
One party rolled up at 7.40pm and announced 'oh we've eaten already'
This really pissed me off, as they knew i had done food and the time was from 6pm! (perhaps i should have stipulated at 6pm)!!
any way, i digress!
They are having a 'do' this Sat!
Just had a text from 6pm, bring meat and plate!
I'm very tempted to take half a dozen crap sausages, eat before hand and turn up at 7.30pm!

As for the food, I always thought, you take food IF you are going to be EATING food? If not, I 'personally' think it's OK to turn up with nowt.Surely you would have 'done food' anyway? Isn't it 'de rigeur' for a party? Wether anyone eats it or not?

Tricky one this......personally I think, if you are invited to a bash, the time given is a 'guide time'. We ALWAYS turn up fashionably late - not deliberatley - it's a womens hair thing As for the food, I always thought, you take food IF you are going to be EATING food? I agree with what you put but since being here in Oz, it seems to be, bring food as well as host/hostess supplying stuff too!
but i think i'll go with the fashionablly late thing

Yeah Sam, TBH, it has us a lil bit confused......what DO you take? Do you take your OWN food then eat others, or do you stick to your own food? Anybody have an answer to this conundrum?

Well in that case I'd not go and probably avoid them from now on.
You take something along as a contribution, then it all gets shared out (well it does here in SA anyhow).
