I don't get why someone would take it as offensive when its obviously meant to be an affectionate term?:)

Personally, it jumped out at me in his post, it just sounds so dismissive of the person. I wouldn't say, "My big cuddly yum-yum is having some managerial problems at work".

It's actually irrelevant whether Sally, Ozzi, et al think it's offensive or not, they are completely entitled to their own opinion. The fact that I don't find the OP calling his wife "my little lady" demeaning, is also nothing to do with the discussion.

What this is about is that no-one (especially a Mod who is supposed to ensure fair play for all forum members) has the right to make judgemental comments about someone else's private relationship. Totally inappropriate & nothing to do with the questions that were being asked. Very poor

That's your view. I think it's fair enough for people to comment on something that might be relevant.

Sorry, but I fail to see how a personal term of endearment that a person uses to address his Significant Other is relevant to a question about how Ozzie employers conduct recruitment.

Perhaps I should refer you to the Site Policy on Terms of Usage, which specifically mentions the invasion of member's privacy...go have a look, you might learn something
