Freedom!
But I hope hung, drawn and quartered is not part of it.
Enjoy the new place.

Re: Woop Woop - I have a House!
Congrats SOB - have you thought about looking on freecycling sites for furniture and other items? It is amazing what people don't want!

Re: Woop Woop - I have a House!
Thanks all
I'm not sure that freecycle is very active up here. Looking on Gumtree and there are some bargains to be had. My problem is transport, I only have a little car. When we've actually moved in, I might see if I can get help from friends with utes and whatnot, but I don't really like asking.
@ Alfresco - no, we're not living in woop woop - I'm a city girl and Cairns itself is woop woop enough for me!
Not getting the keys til lunchtime now as the real estate phoned this afternoon to say there are cleaning issues with the house that need to be fixed by the previous tenants before we can move in. Makes no difference, I've only packed my books and DVDs so far - I'm suffering from apathy, I think it's because I don't really believe it's happening and probably won't til I have the keys in my hand tomorrow. Then I'll panic

Re: Woop Woop - I have a House!
Well we're in our new home! yayyy! .... and it's chaos! No idea when I'm going to be able to get my bookcases, piano, desk and fridgefreezer over. Obviously the fridge is the biggest need.... I've been constructing bedside tables out of tomato boxes too, and also a fine entertainment unit - I'm sure it will be all the rage soon!
Bought a couple of beanbags to tide us over til we find a decent second hand lounge - the house is now covered in a light dusting of beans... and I didn't pack a dustpan and brush - oh woe! Did about 5 trips back and forth today and will have to do the same tomorrow to get some of YoungSOBs stuff over - the traumas of having a very small car! DestructoPup has settled in well ... she's enjoying being allowed in the house, she's mainly behaved herself so far ... although we have been chasing round the house and garden after thongs and my phone a couple of times.
My bedroom is absolutely huge - i've been used to not really being able to see any floor, it was wall to wall stuff ... but here it's mahoosive! In fact the whole house is much bigger than I'd thought we'd get, the downside is that it's further out of town but i'm liking it all so far!
