She took everything then said as its a cash buyer and the surveys been done it should go through really quickly. We're looking to be out of here by mid Feb.

Driving home we stopped off at a storage place to pick up some bubble wrap and I'm so glad we did! The bloke running the place used to work as a shipping agent. When i told him the cost of a 20 ft container he laughed and said we can do it ourselves for a fraction of the cost. He's given us loads of contacts and recommendations, plus removal companies that are loads cheaper, both this end and Brisbane!
How lucky are you!!!

Brill news.

Well interestingly its going ok. We're in contact with MSC shipping, based in Felixstowe (about a 30 min drive from here). As we're dealing directly with the shipping company we're cutting out all the 'middle' people that add on all the ££££'s!

Our stuff will go from our house into storage for a month. We have to arrange local removals for that and pack everything up ourselves, but thats ok. MSC then organise for the container to be packed and sealed at the storage depot with us present. they orgainse all the customs paperwork. Container then departs from Felixstowe for Australia. We can track it online. When it gets to Brisbane, the MSC rep at the other end lets us know and organises delivery to new address. Thats included in the price.

Marine insurance is extra. Will let you know all the quotes for that.

Sounds good, quotes will be handy.

I've got to sort all this out yet, but WAS gonna use John Mason as they come highly recommended, but always looking for a cheaper option! ...
