Basically, we are going for a holiday in June and moving out next year due to my son getting married first. But if we enjoy what we see in June you never know we might just go earlier.

At the end of the day though Australia is a massive place and there is more than one city, so if we don't settle in Adelaide we will try somewhere else.
Also life is what you make it wherever you are, so generally if you are happy in yourself then I can't see why things wouldn't work out. If you let stupid stuff like the price of lettuce and how weak the tea is bother you, then basically you are only happy when complaining.
The important thing for me is that my kids are happy, as long as they are then I don't really care about anthing else.
I consider myself extremely lucky to have the chance to experience all that Australia has to offer and if I come on here and complain about silly little stuff I give you all permission to shoot me

I had to get another 6 months work experience before re-applying for ACS assessment so we took the time to come here for a recce. In a way I'm glad we did but not for any negative reason - in fact coming here on hols backed up what we hoped and expected anyway.

We so far the poll results are:
44 have visited before 61.11%
28 haven't visted 38.89%
I'm amazed how many people are immigrating without having visited before.

We have never been before but thought what the hell if we don't like it we can always come back. Can't actually see the last bit happen though as we have made our minds up. Maybe move around Oz if we don't like where we settle first. At the end of the day we are all looking at it as one BIG adventure.

visited australia 3 times (2 months each time) before coming to australia in January.
Had i not visited before I would have just gone and lived in melbourne to be close to friends and family - never would have considered brisbane.... and if I'd moved to Melbourne I would have made a HUGE MISTAKE!
Discovered that much as i love being in melbourne (with all my mates and that ay!) i feel much more relaxed in Brisbane! Melbourne's great - but I couldn't live there
