Default Who says Australia is expensive?

I just looked up Adobe LightRoom 3 to see if I might be able to afford it.
US price $299

Go to Adobe Australia shop - A$136.40 plus $25 shipping. (Full version, not an upgrade)

I have bought it.

That's a first!
Mr TE has just taken delivery of a cpap machine for his sleep apnea from the US - $650 inc postage compared to $1200 in Oz. The sales person in Oz has been chasing him after his initial enquiry and rather than compete on price argued that the company selling it in the States was breaking the law by sending it to him.

I know someone who had a special frame made for there disabled boy and it was half price, delivered from America. The special wheels would have cost more than the one they actually got.

Lonely Planet China: $50 in one of Perth's few remaining bookshops (now that Borders and A&R are gone). It can be had for just under $30 on an Australian website
Amazon UK: $16 delivered today (although free delivery is ending on 30th September)

Quilting fabrics 60-75% cheaper INCLUDING delivery from USA... Battings 50% cheaper... Notions ALWAY cheaper... Specialist needles for my baby... $10 for 10 instead of $18 for 5... INCLUDING postage.... Where as postage is extra here!

As for quilting books.... IF you can get a supplier who will deliver to australia 30% cheaper minimum

Its a no brainer for quilters
