Who remembers... (childhood/teen stuff)
I loved the childrens programes when I was a kid, I remember coming home from school and rushing through the door to grab a glass of milk and some biscuits to watch 'Grange Hill' with 'Trisha' and 'Tucker Jenkins'.
I loved Fridays when Mum might have been able to afford giving me a few quid and I could buy some sweets to munch on while watching my favourite stuff on TV.
When I was really little I loved watching 'Mary, Mungo and Midge', 'Pipkins', 'Paddington Bear', 'Top Cat', to name but a few.
My favourite sweets were:
1. Mojo's
2. Blackjacks
3. Shirbert Dips
4. Cola cubes
5. Pineapple chunks
6. Panda Pops cola
Mum used to buy me 'Misty' magazine - I blame that magazine for my magazine addiction that I have today
I just really enjoyed that sort of stuff and it brings back so many memories. If we were bored, we would build 'camps' in the lane and kids from rival camps were not allowed in.
We had pretend 'wars' which we fought on pretend horses and a large cardboard box quickly became a super fast car once decorated.
It's funny how time changes, fun costs money these days and imagination seems to be a gift that isn't often 'let out to play'.
What were your favourite memories of your childhood - be it sweets/food/TV?

I remember being scared witless watching Dr Who as a lad. Now 30+ years later I'm sitting watching the new version with my 6 year old who loves it [especially because "it's a bit scary dad, but not too much"]

- Climbing up the tree across the road and hanging out.
- Playing kiss chase in the school playground.
- Half penny sweets (and spending hours just deciding what to buy on the rare occasion you some money).
- Breakdancing on cardboard or lino with mates in my room listening to the Electro cassettes.
- Long summer nights, out playing up the park til 10pm.
- Building camps in the woods or sleeping out overnight in tents in the back garden.
- Watching Grange Hill, Tiswas, Krackerjack and Saturday Swap Shop.
- Knowing all the words to Thriller.
- Beating my brother up!

I still remember the first phone we got. Must've been about '78 ish. The thrill of it! Makes you wonder how the hell people managed before.

Anyone remember that wierdy kids program with a kind of spiritual being called ' Choccie' and a little boy that could see it and mad scientists trying to get it. It was quite scary in a supernatural kind of way and has stayed with me for years. My mum & me were glued to it.
Favourite clothes: blue baseball style pumps, summer floaty gypsy dress and a headband!!!

I spent the early eighties only answering to one name:
RAINBOW BRITE
All my schoolwork and artwork from then has Rainbow Brite written on it instead of my name.
That pretty much sums up my childhood.
