Oz dollar and US dollar will both fall, limiting the overall change in exchange rate. However, against the Swiss Franc .....

My guess, a short term bizarre "flight to quality" to the US Dollar!!

There's no way I'm trading that hunch though.

I've got way too much sterling so am probably going to transfer to Swiss as I am getting anxious as UK will get even more screwed by EU. Think short term AUD is a sell but I'm not spreadbetting. I reckon whack a wedge into Swiss and then to Aussie in a few months.

All told I reckon around 1.02

Check the 3 month LIBOR rate and you'll notice that the Swiss central bank won't tolerate much of a spread.

There is barely any spread left. Positions were reversed when the target was pulled back to 0.25 from 0.75 earlier this week.

So it would be a good idea to convert the £5k in our UK account to Aussie dollars and whack it in our account here to help pay some bills?

I think so. Although it could possibly run a bit further. Perhaps touch 1.6? Not sure but there is a bit of a negative head of steam for the AUD at the moment with some poor data. Sterling's improved a bit as its not the target bum currency - not that there are any decent fundamental improvements. All in all - yes in my opinion.

Me too. Up for half the night (on a mooring buoy at michelmas cay - which in any other circumstance would have been blissful) wondering whether I should panic sell shares. Didn't. Has to settle down soon ?

Absolutely - insane whipsawing, possibility of a 20-30% crash then Jackson Hole and QEIII then time to be long again.
