Now if you fancy Iceland, I would recommend going late Oct, early Nov, as apparantly it will be the twilight time, never getting completely dark. Sounds great! We looked into going for a weekend, but it was too expensive, so we opted for Christmas week in Rome, which was alot cheaper!

They have hot natural Spa's in Iceland, lovely............. I wanna go now!

Son 1 is going to be away at Uni, Daughter is going to be on holiday with my mother, and Son 2 is in France on school trip with school which means little ole me stands to spend a lonely 40th UNLESS i take myself off somewhere cheap and cheerful!
Where would you reccomend? Somewhere in Europe just for a short break. Can fly from North West, quite fancy somewhere different, out of the ordinary
answers on a postcard please! (or on here if that is easier)

I also say Reykavik - not your usual weekend destination. Love Barcelona, Madrid, Rome, Budapest, New York but so........................ 'normal'

Iceland may be expensive but worth every penny and certainly not something a lot of people do.
