We drove from Kent to Ankara when we got sent there for work. Took 6 days. We came back via the pretty route in 7 days, 14 months later.

Took 24hrs to get there.
In the ground for 10min. Attacked by French police and driven out of the ground.
24hrs to get back.
Was bloody NOT worth it.

My record is quite lame - from Birkdale to Coolooba Cove, 233km, a 3-hour drive, to visit friends. It seemed like an eternity with two little monsters who kept asking if we were there yet every 5 minutes in the last hour of the trip.

Oh another fly-not-drive but a mega trip - we once flew from Singapore to Heathrow (the same day The Geek landed from San Fran - I think I've told this tale before 
), landed at 6am, went to a funeral, and The Geek was back at Heathrow by 6pm for a flight back, then flew back a couple of days later.
I once drove (or rather was the passenger) from Singapore to Melaka to go to Tesco's. Just for something to do.
