What's everyone up to for Christmas?

Re: What's everyone up to for Christmas?
Absolutely nothing different from any other time. We're unsociable and honestly even if we liked people, the idea of meeting up and sharing tables, pools etc seems ridiculous. I'll be feeding and cleaning 19 cats and kittens as normal. Luckily I don't have to go to either rehoming centre as (at the moment anyway) all volunteers are able to do their shifts (thank you COVID). We thought about finding somewhere nice for dinner but so few decent places open and when they are they have rubbish set menus at crazy prices. I just have to get out and buy food and I've no idea when I'll get to the fishmongers so the husband's wish for bugs and prawns may not come true.
Totally over people bitching and moaning about being unable to visit family/friends. I've not hugged my eldest since March 2018. We had tentative plans to celebrate two milestone birthdays in the UK in September. Obviously that went by the board many months ago. Thank crunchie for Whatsapp.

"What's everyone up to for Christmas?"
As my Ukrainian great-grandmother once pithily put it,
"Work, work, work. After, die."
Dawn shift on Christmas Day, somewhat later shift on Boxing Day.

Re: What's everyone up to for Christmas?
Our first Christmas in Australia since 1988. In a caravan park in Noosa. No spaces but strangely quiet. No idea where everyone has gone. Maybe they are off visiting local friends and relatives.
"Roast" chicken is in the barbie together with the potatoes and parsnips. Brussels, carrots and peas ready to go. Cauli cheese waiting to be cooked. Paxo soon to be made. Tesco's own Christmas pudding came from the Reject Shop (tip for those who don't frequent the Reject Shop, they now do a whole range of Tesco foods for those who have a hankering for that) and the brandy butter is made. Christmas cake was iced yesterday.
So other than the minor point of being 16,387km from where we were supposed to be having Christmas, oh and it being 20C+ warmer, oh and there being palm trees overhead, oh and being just the two of us, much the same as a normal Christmas....
Merry Christmas, a happy New Year and a vastly improved 2021 to all....

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Personally, mine sucked donkey balls. I was sick in bed from Christmas eve until this morning - felt like I'd been hit by a freight train, stomach cramps, stuff coming out of both ends etc. I had a bit to eat yesterday for the first time since Wednesday dinner time. I'm feeling a lot better but still not right - don't know what it was. Everyone else around here had a good time though
Anyway, onwards and upwards into 2021!
