Seafood BBQ for the first time ever.... Unusual for us and I've been here for a very long while. Turkey not on menu this year for the first time in my life.. Will probably buy a turkey after Xmas. Going to give stuffed calamari a go as well. Oysters, Mussels, whole fish...not sure which one yet, prawn skewers etc etc... some Chicken or Ribs for our boy who isnt really into seafood.

Just in the back yard, Then over to friends places in the evening and boxing day.

Looking forwards to it more than usual.

Does anyone here know of a decent tasting punch/cocktail.... something I can make in bulk that is based on Gin ? So I'm not mixing drinks all day ?


Hmmm do you reckon I can crispy roast some Spuds with Balsamic and Rosemary and Garlic to go with the above ?

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Finished work today, driving up the coast tomorrow to a lakeside cottage we've rented, plan to forget all about Christmas, chill out, read, and spend all too-scarce time together. :)

Well I have family coming over for Xmas day.We usually get up early,open presents,have a light breakfast.I am planning on doing xmas dinner for around 1pm,so we can head out for a walk mid avvo in the countryside!After that,who knows,play a few cd's,jump around the loungeroom for a while(burn off the calories lol)and then maybe watch abit of tv.Our xmas days are usually fairly quiet.Xmas Eve we'll hit the local village pub which will be nice!:thumbsup:

Potatoes sound nice but they won't go with seafood (IMO). what about some kipfler pots? Boil whole in skin, when cooked and cool to handle but still warm, peel off skin and slice into thickish rounds and coat lightly with extra virgin olive oil and freshly ground pepper - don't put in the fridge and serve at room temperature. Perfect

Spending my last UK Christmas Day for a while @ my brother's with the family, the OH is in England spending his last Christmas with his family as we fly on the 1st February. I'll be joining him on the 27th to say goodbye to his folks, then we're back in NI on New Year's Eve, just in time for mayhem to kick in with Pickfords chaos imminent on the 5th Jan! ARGHHHHHHHHH :eek:

Well as it will apparently remain freeze your boobies off cold here in the UK for xmas it will be spent mostly huddled indoors wrapped up central heating on (germs gone wild), my dad is popping over for the day as it will be our last Christmas living in the UK - no one else is too bothered so other than my dad it will just be the 6 of us - hubby, me DS1, 2, 3 and my DD1's first (and last forseeable Christmas in the UK)

There will be toys, food, wine and peace hopefully :D

Then we jump over to my dads boxing day for him to cook us a meal.

Our Christmas celebrations officially start tomorrow as its MiddleChild's birthday - he has selected Posh Sausages, Bucket Fulls of Mash and Onion Gravy (thanks Mam for the tubs of Bisto you sent over, I love you forever) followed by The Cheesecake Shop's finest Caramel Cheesecake.

On Christmas Day we'll have Bucks Fizz and Bacon Butties for breakfast, followed by a late Christmas lunch on the deck, followed by lots more alcohol.

Boxing Day is FilmDay and Buffet/Help Yourself I can't Be Arsed To Cook Anything Else And Its My Christmas Too Day.

Rain is forecast, so we will be indoors. Open pressies after breakfast. Me slave over stove to cook lunch, though it is a ham this year so not too bad. Then....I dunno.
