Don't own any personal music devices, nor do I wish to. I prefer not to have noise plugged straight into my ears damaging my hearing. Working with little children I value the times when I can escape from noise.
I hate it when people walk along so focussed on their little tunes that they can't pay attention to their surroundings and thus barge into you or step into the road.
I hate having to put up with the clicky/thumpy noises that escape from said earplugs when on the train- very irritating, and then the owners of such devices raise their voices to talk to each other- just take the dang things out of your ears and turn them off if you want to talk- I have no wish to hear what you said to whom, or how pissed you aim to get tonight.

Just cos some of us have ipods though, don't assume we ALL have them so loud that everyone else can hear them. I walk to work, takes me a good half hour, and I would rather listen to music during that time than to the traffic - I've progressed from Walkman to personal cd player to ipod, and I love my music, very important part of my life. However I don't inflict it on anyone else, I don't barge into people cos I'm wearing an ipod and I am still capable of looking before I cross the road - possibly cos I can still see, my ipod doesn't affect my sight!
I only use mine on a docking station which I can move around the house/garden or when i'm using the geurney/lawn mover to drown out the noise with some music in the back ground or when i'm on long rides on the bike and I want some company for the next 2 hours before being able to stop.
just because you are against them, why post it on a lighthearted thread about peoples music??????
