What are the things you love about Oz?
Not looking for a comparison with other countries, just things about Oz that make you smile.
Me personally I like the wide roads and the changing countryside down the south of Western Australia. I do like the sun (after 3!) and walking along the beach for hours with no shoes on. I like staying in cottages in the Karri Valley region when it's winter and raining. I love the fresh food and the wide variety of choice of foods. Also having an impromptu barbie with the OH after work.
Just a bit of a feel good post ... what are yours?

I haven't noticed anything about road width, seem much same to me here in Sydney. .
But I love blue skies. I think the climate is pretty brutal here at times, but I definitely appreciate more blue skies here.

There's just something about that 'blue'... if you have been to the middle of Aust that blue against redish ochre dirt and the green spinnifex is stunning.

Driving home from work with sun shining and dolphins swimming in the background (I drive 5km distance on estuary foreshore filled with them)
Kookaburras laughing when I hang up washing.
Spoiled for choices when it comes to camping.
Going crabbing at 5.30am and spotting 15+ kangaroos on the way there.
Dislikes...
Possums finding their way to my roof and the endless scratching during the night!
Could say few more things after 15yrs here but would get shot down so will leave it that....

Love this!!
about good things you love? go for it! It doesn't mean there aren't negative things, of course there would be, however thought I would just do a honest good ol good feel thread. Sometimes you have those on here who seem to delight in doom and gloom so thought it might be nice to read the things people love.

If I'm popping to local deli, why should I need perfect clothes, make up, let alone hairspray? It's just a deli, love the fact it's not so "stuck up" as Europe, again, laid back fine with me! In fact, having bought my first hair spray in 4 yrs I noticed Aussies have maybe 5 or 6 options, in Europe you have a whole shelf for it...
I guess it comes down to this
I don't give a flying duck in Oz, I still look good but don't stress about it, I notice small things (I certainly didn't notice any birds in Europe)' May it be starry or blue sky, wild animals or people. Maybe that means what I believe is true, that laid back life is catching up and I no,longer stress about minor things? God, I hope so as after all these years I'm so laid back I'm almost horizontal?!
One more thing, I whinge about heat, cold etc the same as next person but unlike in Finland and in uk, where my only thought was "gotta get out", here the ghost process is "oh well, it'll pass soon enough"
So I guess I love how I've changed.
