What should we do, your advise please!!!!
 

Hi Guys

Here goes, got a CO, had meds and doctor said if we didnt hear from them by today blood and xrays are fine (we all got 10/10 on physical!) Just given police checks to agent with 'no trace' on both. CO wanted proof of OH self employment so we also submitted a letter from inland revenue stating SE from 1999 to now, and references from companies he as worked from then to now.

My problem is we are getting excited now about going and have been looking at a flight going out to Brisbane for a reccie on 8th June. Price of flight is cheap and worried if we wait it will rocket.

Question is, should we book these flights without having visa? what is the chance of being rejected?? (applied for 175 bricklayer), dont want to book flight get rejected and come on holiday to see what we could have won:unsure:

and if we book what is weather going to be like then consdering its winter, would we be able to trial beaches etc, are we better waiting a few months till Nov? (not sure we could wait that long though!)

help, we dont know what to do:confused::unsure:

I was on the Sunshine Coast last winter and there were lots of people on the beach. The wind can be a little chilly but it is definitely warm in the sun....still need to cream up.

Highest temp was around 27 degrees. Most days were 20-22.

Don't speculate!
Don't assume you will be moving here, you will set yourself up for a big disapointment if it doesn't happen. I'm sure you know that. Wait until you know for sure...then get your tickets.

So what if it's a bit cold here when you come over...you should see the worst weather anyway so you know how bad it is. How bad is the weather here?
Really cold in winter....we sometimes have to wear "thick" t-shirts. :)

I know i will be gutted if we dont get visas, but agent said we had been approved pending medicals, and nothing has shown up on them, so we should expect a positive decision in about 4-6 weeks.

I dont want to take agents word as gospel, but 4-6 weeks will take us to end of feb, and the nearer flights are the more expensive they get.

but then like i said if we dont get tickets etc, and dont get visas it would be rubbing salt in an open wound!


i just cant wait for the visa process to be over, it has been 2 years of stress and upset. with constant hurdles. just when we thought we could almost be there, we get a quote to ship our 2 dogs over £4700!! and it knocks us back.

guess just taje it as it comes and hope for the best.:wub:

Try Golden Arrow for shipping your pets, we used them and it cost us 1700 for our staffie and they are excellant.

what's worse...paying more for your flights at the end of feb, or buying cheap flights and then finding out that you don't have the visa?

If you've done the meds and pcc and they are good, it's unlikely you'll be knocked back now. Winter here will be ideal for you coming from UK. Lots of tourists on the beach and in the sea in June/July - the locals are the ones in jackets watching :D I'd book the flights.

Personally I would wait. Although it all sounds like it should be fine, I personally would just rather not kick sods law into place.

Yeah, I would wait.. tempting fate and all that.. but the likelyhood of getting your visa (from what you are saying) is pretty good..

Sorry, but how could your agent possibly know that? DIAC don't inform agents that visas are "approved pending medicals". Sounds to me like someone's telling porkies.

If it were me, I would first ask my agent to send you a copy of that email/correspondence from DIAC and second wait until you actually have the visa grant before booking flights.

Q1. Have you sold your house yet ?
Q2. If not and your house takes as long to sell, as some of the other poor buggers waiting .......could you afford ANOTHER trip to validate your Visa's ?

My real answer is ..... Australia is not going anywhere, have patience and you will be rewarded later on ( I would save the money for the permanent move over here.......it'll do you more good than a holiday ). Let me ask a hypothetical question.......... IF you were entering into your first home purchase..... would you waste money by going on an expensive holiday just after you had submitted your mortgage application ?
