Re: What a PUP!
He's right though!
China (and we're talking about the regime, not individuals) has historically not been expansionist - but the indications are that is changing. China has been buying up huge amounts of Africa and elsewhere for decades. They are buying chunks of Australia too, and want to have vast areas of agricultural land. Why? Certainly not to sell food to the world at large - it's to feed their own country. When the penny finally drops here, what could we possibly do? Nationalise the land? If the Chinese wanted to walk in they could without any trouble, with millions under arms. Palmer is a loose cannon - but even loose cannons hit the target occasionally. |

Have to say Paul, I'm slightly miffed off with you over this thread:thumbdown:
Was looking forward to seeing a photo of a cute 'pup' I thought you'd acquired. :p |

Couldn't find what I wanted but there are some great Palmer cartoons out there: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Br6obQcCYAAkoMT.jpg:large http://31.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m1...yhso1_1280.jpg |

Yes, some of the things he's said are very close to the truth, but what a transformation to his way of thinking given that just a few years ago he was championing the Chinese cause. Goes to show the difference a soured business partnership can make.
Yep, just look what happened when Premier "Noddy" Newman went back on the deal with Palmer for the coal project......... |
