What if someone suspected you were gay?

Anyone planning a trip to Russia?

I must admit to being quite astounded at new laws there which reportedly give officials the right to arrest anyone "suspected" of being gay or pro-gay.

I suppose gay marriage isn't going to happen anytime soon in Russia then.

President Putin's has tried to justify his push to criminalise homosexuality by arguing the Russian birthrate is slowing, and that the traditional family unit is under threat. And persecuting gays or pro gays solves that, how, exactly?

I thought you would have known that people are only gay because it's not illegal. Once banned all gay people will immediately start repopulating Russia. A brilliant master-plan from Mr Putin.

D'uh! It's all so obvious when explained by a genius. Merci buckets.

So, if someone annoys the wrong person... could they be arrested on suspicion of being gay?

And what about homosexual people living in Russia? What a scary way for them to have to live. :(

It does seem amazing to me that as other countries consider allowing gay couples to marry... another creates new laws like this.

I, for one, think your suggestion that there is anything homoerotic about a middle aged man prancing around topless on horseback while wearing military gear is ridiculous.

Vladimir Putin's heterosexuality is beyond doubt: as you know, he has long been a keen fan of judo, which involves thinly-clad men grappling on the floor, and is practised exclusively by rugged men about whom suggestions of homosexuality are entirely unknown and misplaced, like William Hague.

The funny part was how quick the usual gay organisations were to out him as NOT gay.

"We don't want anything to do with him"

Has anyone in Oz ever questioned if Abbott is gay? Given the budgie smugglers and the fear/hatred of gays, it would seem as obvious a supposition to make as Hague, his Jimmy Somerville look, and his 'special advisor'. I can't believe nobody has said it?

On a recent lads golfing trip to Thailand I had lets put it this way an unintentional incident with one of the famed thai ladyboys. The other 10 lads on the trip let me know for the rest of the trip what they thought my sexual orientation was :o

There does come a point though where you know what you're, um, getting into.

At which point your sexual orientation is perhaps no longer open to question.

I think a lot of men have close calls with lady boys. At least I think they do. My husband had a dance with one.
