Not going to use our UK bank accounts any more so what sites do you use to order gifts for overseas? UK websites or Australian websites that deliver to the UK? I take it I can use my westpac visa card but will be more expensive.

We use ebay uk and get things sent to their uk addresses! easy peasy, no stress or hassles

We try and order from UK websites and get things delivered to the recipients address but have had problems in the past where it will not process the order as the billing address is a different country from the postal one. We then have to phone the company to verify the reason and the order is then processed. A bit inconvenient but cheap enough if you use skype.

I agree ebay is the cheapest/easiest option.

As a Christmas hater it didn't bother me so that obviously made it easier. In the current economic climate I am glad that I don't have to spend hundreds of dollars we don't have on people who don't need the stuff I buy. We buy for special birthdays and thats it. The family send money for the kids and then we buy here. Makes it easier that way.

We found it kind of tailed off.......sending packages in the first year or two, then cards with U.K notes inside, then just a card and now all but the Mother In Law get only an E-Mail or maybe a phone call if they are lucky

Out of sight out of mind....sad but true

MIL would give us a ticking off if we forgot, especially the kids. I wouldn't mind but we never get an acknowledgement that they have received our gifts but if we forget we soon hear about it.

Good for you. We gave up gifts years ago - no-one wants the things that are given anyway.

And we've saved a fortune on spouses Christmas, birthday, Easter, Mothers' day etc cards: we bought one generic card about ten years ago and find it and present it for each occasion! Gives us a good laugh each time and saves about $20 - $30 a year!

Not sure if you are serious or just taking the piss. It works for our family, we aren't a large or close one and none of us finds the giving and receiving of presents important. I put much more thought into a lovely card with words that means something and a phone call at Christmas and Birthdays.

Why would I be "taking the ****"?

We get more fun from our eternal card than any number of one-offs. Each to his own, I suppose.
