I had a pint of Fosters, no I couldn't work that one out either and now I'm stuck in some space time continuum loop thing. Was nice though, think I'll have another one

Is going home the answer, I am seriously considering. My situation 2 1/2 years in, kids & wife love it and I have never been so depressed in my life. Even though I know the problems in UK I did enjoy my life there and altho Perth is a beautiful city there's something big missing from my life. I feel like I'm in solitary confinement, don't like work (tied in on a 457). Its like living back in the 60's with freezing house half the year and a sweatbox the other half. Struggling to find an interest with Gym being best to date.

just go where you're heart wills, if you're getting home sick why fight it, lifes to short to stay somewhere if its not whats really in your heart, least you followed your dreams and gave it a try

Not actually feeling homesick myself, was just pointing out that I was in Australia, drinking an Australian beer that You can't generally get in Australia, but used to drink regularly in England. No need to be concerned :lol:

Went back to England for 2 months from mid-May to Mid-July and it just convinced me that our future is back over there. Just got to convince the Aussie wife though.

Everyone is different, with different interests and priorities.

BTW, forget Fosters. Get yerself to Dan Murphys and get some Bombardier or Adnams Broadside. Proper Beer.

I've never been homesick since being here, only people sick and nothing helps that, you just have to deal with it. When I went out to Perth in the early 80s, just leaving the airport made me want and need England desperately and I was only going to be there a month in theory.:D Can't imagine needing Fosters though, not in any scenario. :lol:

We have been here 10 year and I still get homesick from time to time. It comes on with no warning and I often don't know why. I have found getting involved in community and social endeavours has helped.

I know what you mean about the cold our house is freezing in the winter and it's to expensive to heat like we would back home. Our standing joke is after June we don't want to go to the loo until the end of November as it's so cold.

Yeah Fosters was one of CUB's lesser tipples which was sold to British company SAB Miller so is British owned. Strangely, the rights to make it in the UK and Europe are owned by Heineken.:confused: After Carling it's the 2nd most popular drink in the UK. Vic Bitter and Carlton Draught better.

We've got a pretty good solution to homesickness - 9 months in Scotland and 3 months in Melbourne every year. Not a viable solution for most but works for us, particularly as we get no more than 1 month of winter p.a.;)

I can only assume that the stuff brewed in the UK must be brewed differently, it was a decent pint if you didn't want to go on the heavies. Having said that though, I had a can of Carling Black Label a while back, it was furkin orrible.

Whilst I agree that Carlton graught is better, there is only one thing that VB tastes better than, and Todd Carney was filmed drinking it. Did any of you notice the unopened can of VB in the background??
