We have just had 3 quotes for our 3 bed house. Quotes range from £3200 to just under £3500 for a 20ft container. We plan to take more or less everything and have even thought of buying some stuff to take with us.......my wife has seen a really nice oak dining room table that would only fit in a mansion over here but would just suit your typical Aussie house. We have built this into the quotes.....

We have since then started going round the house adding up what everything costs....very roughly.

108 CDs @roughly £10 each
40 DVDs @roughly £10 each
1 book shelf of books I totted up the cover cost of all the books and it came to over £1000.....another 3 bookshelves to go
1 shelf in my wardrobe = 5 pairs of jeans @£40 each...goodness knows whats in my wife's etc etc

Adds up really, really quickly.......................havent even started in the attic and shed yet.

The removal companies all quoted us for insurance of between 2.8% and 3.0%. One of the threads on this forum recommended an insurance company who have just quoted us 1.6% of the value of our goods as a premium.
