Re: What dampened my spirits today......
Reading Facebook this morning and a UK friend commented on one of her friends posts (I don't know this other lady from Adam but I guess if my mate comments it allows me to see #nocluehowthatworks).
Anyway turns out her mate got Melanoma which is now spreading everywhere ... she's going through Chemo etc and I just realised as hard as my day may or may not be, I'm not fighting that; it does dampen your spirits when you realise so many people have such mighty fights on their hands. (I deleted my trivial Facebook status as a result, doubt anyone but my mother is interested in my "funny pet story")

Re: What dampened my spirits today......
reading the last four pages on here ....
Must hit myself on the head to remind myself (not to go there) & read depressing stuff on the internet
As for the OP, well its still frigging cold here, but as the weather person said 'it'll be warmer today than yesterday, with the temperature rising to minus -14 Celsius and a wind chill of minus -20'C

I would sound like an ungrateful, shallow person if I said what had dampened my spirits today - so I'll just have my glass of wine and be grateful for the small stuff.

Jumped in the car after work this afternoon...driving along and started to wonder why I couldn't see out of the rear window.......turned around and found the hood lining and noise-proofing had come out at the back above the window. Obviously something had let go....managed to tuck it back in, but not sure for how long it was going to last. All I could think of was how many $$$$ it was going to cost to fix........
2 pints of Bulmers later, spirits starting to rise.....

Re: What dampened my spirits today......
Brisbane international Terminal. Large billboard above the departure gates.
A pic of a plane on a radar screen, with the words next to it "SMS your Goodbye Message......"
Now I am a real fatalist, when my name's on it, it will get me. Crap like that doesn't spook me in the least, but i have heard a few uneasy comments around me, and it clearly is NOT the best thought out slogan in the airline world at present.
Get real Brisbane. Do you want to freak people out?

Get real indeed, what the hell is that all about?
On a lighter note, I've lost my flipping phone! I'm expecting some important phone calls today and the people Who should be calling don't have any other way of getting in contact with me. bloody typical!

If they leave you a message you can access it from a landline - your provider will have details how to do that.

I've just accidentally unsubscribed from a thread. I've no idea which one it was. Not life changing but it naffed me of momentarily.
