Hi delicadog again ,yes it was my first post.How you feel about a place is influenced by where you come from in the u,k. your interests and an ability to analyse a society at a micro sociological level.The conclusions I have drawn are purely a personal opinion, however if you think deeply enough about them, they all have a ring of truth.What really prompted me to spill my guts as it were ,is because of the well worn cliches we always hear, like a great place to bring up your kids, yeah right, if you want them to get melanoma,be obese,get a v8 at 17 and wrap themselves around a tree, and smoke weed at primary school.Or Perth is the greatest city on earth,we have the best beaches in the world,the best education system etc etc.Civilisation in Perth rests on a very thin veneer,houses are poorly insulated roads are substandard,site safety is poor,the driving test is a farce,the government and police force inept.Well that should stimulate some more discusson and please less crap about pizzas.

I think hes full of shite: hes a builder by trade yet complains about insulation in houses here, complains about skin cancer caused by the sun yet he enjoys surfing and cycling in perth. A typical wally, probably recently split with his misses poor fella

The obesity and 17 year olds wrapping themselves round trees happens everywhere in the world I would imagine. I have to query the "best education system" comment though. I have never ever heard anyone say that. In fact from what I've heard on here (not been there for over 20 years) the one thing that those that love the place and those that hate it will agree on is that the education system there is not good.
