Me:
Cook, make the lunches and keep MY bathroom clean.
Him:
Hoover, dishes (crap @ them tho, makes me cringe when I go to make a brew for a mate and the cup isn't clean!! :curse, cuts the grass, keeps HIS bathroom clean.
We then each do our own ironing, but if I'm feeling nice and he's had a really tough day at work, I'll iron his Army uniform.
If he's away with work, like now he's away for 5 weeks, I do the bear minimum then have a mad frantic clean/tidy up the day before he's due back. Unfortunately I've been caught out a few times with him arriving home early, while I'm at work and the house is like a bombsite! EEEEK!!!

Mine sent a text message last night to say 'flight confirmed - home tomorrow.'
I sent one back saying "ok but what time ????"
I needed to know how many hours I have today to get the place looking fairly decent.

We've got our 3 year old and 4 year old girls well trained, they go around the house with wipes, wiping up the dust, even when not asked.
Give them a year and I'll teach them how to use a hoover and how to mop tiles.

I cook when I can be arsed and keep things tidy. Mr P puts the rubbish out and irons. We both do shopping, dishes and laundry. I clean bathrooms but Mr P will do it if I ask him to. I dust and mop floors......but only if we're having visitors

Re: What chores do you do around the house?...
For all my married years, I did everything, probably because he was working away and I was an at home Mum with the kids so it just made sense really.
When I went back to work and the ex was at home, he tried to do stuff, but it seems to be a choice.. basically if he thought to do it, it got done. Otherwise it didn't (or I did it because I got sick of waiting).
It's strange having a bloke around now who does housework when need be. Don't get me wrong, the ex would wash up and clear up after I made dinner etc etc, but K actually just gets on with loads of chores off his own back. Plus he'll just come in and make a nice dinner without fussing and clears it all up and he does it quite happily. Nice change actually Disclaimer: He's not living with me btw! We just end up at my house more than his coz I have the kids here most of the time!
My housework works like this - I take one day a week and do it all, top to bottom. Then the rest of the week is the time to mess it all up again
