What action do I have to take?
 

Hi,
I am a leaseholder at the Bow Quarter residential complex in London and have lived in Australia for 30 years.
My wife's name is not on the lease and was wondering what would happen in the event of my death?
Would she be able to act on my behalf? Can she sell the flat etc etc
Any advice would be helpful or if you know any solicitors that are helpful in this area.

Power of attorney? I signed one of those recently as my parents are getting very old. I probably should have paid more attention to what it meant.

If you are dead, I would think you would have to make her executor of your will to be able to sell it after you have gone. If you are alive but just lost your marbles then a PoA

Well, if you are short of a full quota of marbles (which I doubt from your messages,) for heavens sake dont tell anyone as you have to be of sound mind when you sign off on a PoA.
