Hmmmm. If a Scotsman wore a kilt to work would it be discrimination to ask him to stop?
(and would someone need to check to see if he was wearing it in accordance with the rules..

Don't know how much it would help on the keeping cool issue unless it were made of linen though

that said...once men have made the purchase that's it...women have to continually rotate through a wardrobe...they can't be seen to wear the same gear 2 days in a row etc....

women have been wearing t-shirts, jumpers and skirts as ensembles for years whilst men have to buy formal shirts and trousers...
that said...once men have made the purchase that's it...women have to continually rotate through a wardrobe...they can't be seen to wear the same gear 2 days in a row etc....

I pointed this out and got huge kudos for being able to identify the hue..I hit the jackpot by identifying additional girly hues for other colours us blokes would ordinarily dismiss as pink, red and green.
to show further solidarity, I wore the same colour the next day: tweed....
its a veritable minefield....

That reminds me of the time I was contemplating new curtains for a recently decorated room. As I pontificated out loud to myself really, Mr BS thoughtfully suggested a "burnt sienna" kind of hue. Now that is a man that knows his colours.

Having had the misfortune of having had to wear white shoes, white knee high socks, white shorts and a white shirt in 40C+ temps all I can say is PLEASE GOD NO

I see no problem with men wearing shorts, long socks, short sleeves and no tie, it used to normal office wear in Australia, but not in white except for a shirt.
However in modern air-conditioned buildings this form of dress perhaps might not be necessary. Women can wear a variety of clothing, so why not men?
On one occasion taking my mum to outpatients in an Adelaide hospital, the specialist appeared in shorts, a brightly coloured Hawaiian shirt, and sandals. Perhaps not deemed to be professional, but we were there for his medical expertise, not judgment on his dress sense.
However in modern air-conditioned buildings this form of dress perhaps might not be necessary. Women can wear a variety of clothing, so why not men?

I'm wearing shorts in the office right now. I have also slipped my shoes and socks off too...

I think "smart" shorts on guys is great, as long as not short, shorts Likewise same for ladies.
I've tried (don't know if successfully) to show the kids school uniform here with long socks and I'm a fan of that too. The boys have to have long socks for footy so they take it as ok/norm to have long socks for school too.
I'm all for being cool but definitely no to the yellow (or white).

I am really fussy with my work wear, I spend ages choosing my work shirts. They must have a tight slim-fit with no pocket on the front and no button plaque down the front. Must have cuffs that can be rolled up neatly, not too far up though, a turn just below the elbow usually finished off with some well cut trousers that sit well on top of my shoes. I like a striped shirt and have many in a variety of colors but the stripes shouldn't stand out too much and I prefer pastel shades, never yellow or red shirts or any too dark.
To which my wife says after saying what about this one for the 20th time ' for ***** sake, it's just a *****ing work shirt, you going to ****ing buy a ****ing shirt or not, you ****ing take ****ing longer that I ****ing do choosing clothes I then usually have to apologise to the people around me for my wife appalling mouth and behavior lol
I have ties at work if I need them and stick with a good quality neutral one.
I hate seeing scruffy chunts at work, and I have to say it is usually the females letting our office down, half of them walk around the building with nothing on their feet or with those shitty foot thongs.

I'm with you on the rollup of a sleeve too..
when my son is old enough I will teach him the secret to the rolled up sleeve which is not commonly known...(evidently)
