It will be very interesting to see a bill without visitors.
Try getting Methven SatinJet shower heads: they are wonderful.

Most water saving showers give a measly unsatisfying shower but Methven went back to first principles and designed their range as low water-use heads but with a water flow which actually feels like a really heavy shower. The jets aren't the hard needle types which feel as if you are being punctured - they are crossed so that they kiss each other and break into a wide spray that feels like a drenching without using much water.

One of the few things which more than live up to the marketing spiel! We put three in our build and remark every day how good they are.

(No connection with Methven!)

Still less than our final year in the UK for a similar house!
Our sewerage & water rates for the last year were $876.75, our shire rates were $1,552.87. Our past years usage was $249.95.

this is only the additional water useage bill, we used 33KL at 68 cents a KL

our yearly water rate is $266 unmetered and is included in the council rates which for our property is $1600

there are only 2 of us, though we have had 2 rellies staying for the last two months but even so the average additional here is @ $20 a quarter.

we installed a new bathroom when we moved in with a water efficient loo 4.5L for full flush and an air powered shower head.

All our loos and shower heads are water efficient. I have a so called energy/water saving washing machine and dishwasher too. How on earth did you manage to only use 33kls?

I dont know? like I say this is only the additonal useage.

the bill says Water account 12 Nov - 2 Apr current reading 2153 prev 2120 = 33 additional. maybe we have a different set up in Tas?

I do know that we both shower every day, the washer is always on I seem to be endlessly washing up (dont have a dishwasher) I used the hose pipe a fair bit in summer

Hubby's reply to that was 'why pay $35 for something as simple as that?'

We're on town water so pay $70 a quarter for the service, but we don't use it as we have a huge (to us) tank and normally only use rain water. We have had to switch a few times when the tank's got low so our last bill was $60.

We pay about 45 bucks a quarter, as we save loads by recycling through the laundry and toilets.

We are a washing machine intensive family of 4 using what a small apartment with a couple would use.

We use about 150l a day.
