I'll certainly be up watching the Friday night England games! It's about time the English lads lived up to their potential. Good luck and I'll be cheering them on!

Are you going to be as supportive at half 4 in the morning?

Some friends have told me I *MUST* be at Arrive Derci in Milton for the England games... (They always get a good crowd in and are open 24/7 with big screens and plenty of atmosphere for the month of the world cup).
I'm guessing the routine will be get some sleep earlier in the day, head out at around midnight to watch the warm-up games - perhaps crashing back into bed around 7am - or perhaps watching recordings from the 9:30pm games depending on energy levels....
SUN 13th 00:00 ARG v NIG
04:30 ENG v USA
SAT 19th 00:00 SLO v USA
04:30 ENG v ALG
THU 23rd 00:00 ENG v SLO
04:30 AUS v SER .... then straight on to work.

The 4.30am ones will be tough. I'm planning a bit of a nap in the afternoon/evening and then head off to the pub for a few at 10ish and then just blast through till the game. I expect to be fairly inebriated.
Are all Sydney-siders aware of the big screens being put up at Darling harbour?

A must for the big games I reckon but if England end up playing Australia in the 2nd round it could get really messy

There are going to be quite a few pubs open in Melbourne for the 4.30 am games.
Obviously the Casino is one venue, which would probably attract the most crowds. I'd suggest that would be the best place for English based support to Congregate in the City Area.
Others that could attract English supporters will be The Charles Dickens, 282-290 Collins st, and The Peacock hotel in Northcote, Another possible is The Quarry in Nicholson St Brunswick. My Local Drums in Coburg is even contemplating the Germany v Aus game. The Charles Dickens will be where the Melbourne Victory based support will congregate..... and theres a possible 22,000 of those So it will be full even at 4.30 am... if they get passed the following caveat.
All of the above have to employ at least 2 security staff per estimated one hundred patrons which is a first for sporting event watching in this state. Looks like they could be expecting things to happen.
Another place that the more errrm Upfront English supporters could congregate, as it happened last time around, is in Traditional Italian territory, Lygon St Carlton.

Mark Viduka was easily Celtic’s best Aussie player and still has huge fondness for the club.
Scott McDonald was okay but loved the pies more than the Bhoys.
Best ever player? Got to be Henrik Larsson by a mile.

That's what I was saying
Mark Viduka for best Aussie Celtic player & Jinky/Henrik Larsson for best ever.
