you could try to record the stream using something like WM Recorder but not sure how this works with live stuff - it is capable of leeching off streaming video/audio, and there is a WM VCR to record programs overnight, see:

www.wmrecorder.com

good luck - but NOT IN THE CRICKET !!

Its a new service - live streaming of BBC1, BBC World News, and a whole bunch of other channels. And its legal!

Only downside is that its live - so in our evenings here we're watching the BBC morning news. But - there is a way - and we'll figure it out soon enough - to be able to record Eastenders while its on in the UK evening and we're tucked up in bed. :D

Anyway, if you want to catch up on the news etc. from Blighty, here's your chance.

Have fun!

W :D

thanks for this. ive been watching eastenders via uktv which is abit behind but after being here over a year, we are now into unknown territory with it, so its quite good. how do you view bbc1? we get bbc news 24 on austar.
thanks again

Trish :)

:) The truth is you're dependant upon the other end so it's all pretty much of a moot point really...

Having said that the other day I downloaded Windows Live Messenger from Microsoft... 15.5 Mb file came down the pipe in less than 10 seconds... :D

Of course they do. They have to cram an hour's worth of adverts in. It's either start the movie early or people won't bother cos they have to go to bed before midnight!

Excellent you can just have BBC 24 running in the background while on here then flick back to that page if you hear anything that interests you.... :D . My PC didn't like the horror movie bit said my Quicktime didn't work with the Active X bit.

if you ask nicely I'll try to get it to work ---- but being in the UK and being lazy I can watch TV on my PC or the old goggle box without too much effort......

So there you go Why Don't You - Look! 20 years later, and I've finally taken your advice!

I remember Why Dont You, what an awfull programme but I had to endure it though as Rentaghost was on afterwards and that was great :D

We will be following in your footsteps mate and will avoid Eastenders at all costs

W :D

Just checked the site out and guess what the most watched channel is today,

you guessed it BBC1.

I wonder how they get round the licensing issues?

Hmmmm, well with our sooper dooper 8Mbits connection (thats according to Telstra who are quite obviously lying through their arse), the video sticks every 5 seconds, and the sound drops every 30 seconds.

Which is weird, because I do use online tv to watch other channels on other software and it runs fine. So it must be the site thats having the jitters.

JTL

Edit: I've just tried the ITV Play channel, which is showing live the 'I'm a former celebrity, maybe you've heard of me' show. And it works fine. So maybe its the BBC One feed thats iffy.

And that Malandra Burrows has really let herself go. I used to have the hots for her 15 years ago when she was on Emmerdale.

Oh hang on, thats another woman with a big fat arse. Malandra looks ok, still wouldn't kick her out of my bed.

Lawks, a page that actually does what it says on the tin with zero hassle!

It can't stay free or legal for long obviously (I note the 'beta' tag) but it's a good link all the same.

Cheers,
Matt
