I honestly think sometimes soccer is a child's game. I want to like it, really like it, but they make it hard.

I was gonna say Rugby is far more civil, unless swing low sweet chariot is being sung. :D

I have been travelling the last couple of days and saw my first five minutes of a match yesterday. Five minutes was about al I could stand, the noise was absolutely non stop. I will not be watching any more of the world cup.

Yep, had enough of them. Would be nice to get some of the atmosphere and singing. If I wanted 10,000 horns I'd go watch last night of the proms. Ban them, ban them now

They're bloody ridiculous, annoying for us at home, God knows what it's like for the fans inside the stadium.

Re: vuvuzela

I've heard the SA TV companies are using a Vuvuzela track, a bit like a laughter track to make it seem the stadiums are fuller when the fact they are half empty.

When the TV cameras pan around the ground you don't see that many people blowing them.

I wonder if the vuvuzela will take on the the Premier League?

Some good ol' English football songs like:

"Go back to your African slums, Ghana, Ghana"

"In your Algerian slums, in your Algerian slums, you look in the dustbin for something to eat, you find a dead rat and you think it's a treat. In your Algerian slums"

Think I prefer the horns to songs like that to be honest.

I'm pretty sure the players are getting pissed off with it too. I saw one of the Danish players in last night's game gesturing to the crowd to stop making the noise and that it was hurting his ears

I should have used a smiley or some kind of emoticon. I hate those British football chants too.
