Re: Volunteering Queensland - Alternate Site
We've been trying to get through to the Fairfield RSPCA numbers to take a couple of their animals. I ended up sending them an email. Hopefully they've found foster families for all of them.

Re: Volunteering Queensland - Alternate Site
I know a lot of people have put their names down for volunteering queensland, but if you have facebook there is a group called Brisbane Floods Volunteer Community that is giving some information about where and when people can help (I do not think this is an official group) but there are many who want to help and I know volunteeringqld have not yet been in touch. This fb group are trying to get groups/teams together and help were they can

The following message was posted on Facebook last night:
"91 Redland Bay Road Capalaba, opposite Office Works, just nearClark Rubber. Today we packed mostly clothes and food, i think more toiletries, nappies, cleaning products and so on would really help. Food is great to but not perishables. If ...you have the donations boxed up it will really speed up the process. For example tinned food all in 1 box, pasta/noddles etc in 1 box, drinks in 1 box, nappies in 1 box etc etc. Clothing we are boxing up in male, female, children, toddlers, babies. Adult clothing is being sorted by a few sizes too. Pls only small appliances although must be in good working order. No large appliances or furniture at this stage. If you are going to help with the sorting/packing, best not to park right in front of site. People donating can then access the "drive through" donation lanes without holding up through traffic."
Also those near Belmont/Wynnum area, Cat Beck says on FB about 30 minutes ago:
"If you live near the Belmont/Wynnum/Bayside area, I am collecting donations to take directly to the Ipswich Evac Center. They are in dire need of nappies, baby food, wipes, pads, deodorant, soap, face washers, shampoo, conditioner, toiletries, CLEAN NEW UNDIES, et cetera. We leave this afternoon. Boxes and plastic crates for packing would be helpful.
120 BELMONT ROAD, BELMONT. 04 2244 5656."
