It's every bit as green here mate - the way some people bang on you'd think England had a worldwide exclusive on green farmland . Plus we have the added advantage of stunning beaches, lucious rain-forest, verdant hills and amazing rivers.

I didn't start this thread. Someone asked 'for views from your window' so I obliged.

Are nice pics from the UK not allowed on this site?

Of course you're allowed Grayling - I'd never stop you from wheeling out your old faithful 'view from my window' photo for the 25th time .

But you seem to be suggesting, by quoting thus ".....don't it always seem to go....you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone" - that Australia is 'lacking' in the old greenery and scenery. No? Did I get the wrong end of the stick? Again?

At least those picures are from my window not just random scenery.

....and we have also had hundreds of photos of swimming pools in the past.....doesn't stop people posting them though does it?

Can I just draw your attention to the fact that Aston said 'lovely and purple'

So as for 'you don't know what you've got till it's gone' is slightly incorrect.

So yes, slightly wrong end of the stick, both Grayling and Hutch.

I can assure you Aston, there are some lovely purples here. People even grow lavender! Imagine that!

No...the response to the first photo was about how green it was.

But you quoted his 'purple' quote for what he was going to be missing....

Random Scenery? Sorry to disappoint old chap, but that's my little old local road up the escarpment. Lovely though isn't it!

I agree re: swimming pools, which is why I haven't posted one of my own pool (nice as it is). Instead, here's the view from river (five minutes stroll from my front door) last night at sundown, and the beach (10 minutes stroll from my front door).

Here's the view from our lounge window. Unfortunately it doesn't look as green as this at the moment

I don't even have to get out of bed for my view though
