Re: un settled
Best thing to do is talk to her about it so she know's what's up, as i know hubby and I have had our up's and down's over the year's and we always made sure we talked about it when either of us felt like this.
Good luck :fingerscrossed: |
Re: un settled
I can understand where you're coming from. We've been here since September & hubby & the kids are very happy & settled but I'm up & down with it. Like you I don't want to & can't see myself moving back to the UK but I'm missing my kids, family, best friend & my cat & dog & that's where my problem lies.
I have no words of wisdom I'm afraid. Some days are much worse than others & I've come close to using my credit card for a flight just so I can have a hug with my kids for a few hours. I do find a coffee by the beach tends to lift my spirits a bit & if I'm feeling down hubby has started telling me to go & buy a coffee now :o As Lindzi has said talk to your wife. My hubby doesn't understand why I feel as I do but at least it gives me someone to talk to rather than bottling it up. Alison x |

Re: un settled
I agree with SC, it takes time with some people & when you see others, like your family, settle quickly, you think there is something wrong with you. There isn't, it's normal & happens to lots of us.
I can't see myself moving back to the UK but after 2+ years, am still not sure if this is the place for me. I don't know though if that is just Cairns or Australia. My husband & kids are settled too, although they still miss friends & family. Make sure you share it with your wife & as Alison suggests, go somewhere that you like, that gives you a lift, when it all starts to get too much. Is there anything specific? I know there isn't really for me so generally I just try not to think about it all too much. & with regard to MBTUK forum, try it but it just made me feel worse so I stay out now. |
