UK PAYG SIMCARD RECOMMENDATIONS?
Just curious, for those who have travelled back recently, who would you recommend to get a PAYG simcard with? When I went back early last year I went with O2 and it cost a clean fortune for just texts/short calls etc. Also, can said PAYG simcards be cut down in store, to fit into an iPhone 5?

http://www.three.co.uk/Store/SIM/Pay_As_You_Go or3p per min 2p per text 1p per MB Or £15 for 30 days (300 mins, 3000 text, unlimited data) £12 for 30 days Getting a nano SIM is just a question of asking for one. Just need an address for them to send the SIM to ahead of time.250 mins unlimited texts unlimited data (this is the one I use, I can get £5 if you sign up via my affiliate code) |

Which network does the second one use? I know that THREE in Northern Ireland are pretty poor coverage and I'd be travelling all over the country.

Re: UK PAYG SIMCARD RECOMMENDATIONS?
Dunno about payg being extortionate but I live happily on O2 payg for £10 a month (after your second recharge and if you recharge once a month you get text and net bonuses). Coverage is ok, as good as my DH who us with 3 and he pays only £10 a month as well. I have an overseas calls bolt on with my O2 account and regularly have half hour calls with my son in Aus (because I had racked up so much credit over the last couple of years.). My husband's overseas call rates are much higher but 3 have a code you can use to keep those costs down. No trouble with either getting a micro or nano sim
Whichever one you do get, hang on to it and if you keep it active by sending a text every 3 months you won't lose any credit you have on it. |

However, it you were to get it sent to a UK address, they could post it on to you and you should get it fairly quickly. Not sure if you would have to wait till you landed in the UK to activate it or not - but you'd be in no worse position than you would be otherwise. |

O2 wob't - I looked at them for a sim for my ipad, but had to wait till I got home to buy it in the end. They needed a card registered to a UK address and would only deliver to that address - unless you have someone who culd forward it on to you?
My guess is any of them are going to need you to be in the UK (and thus on their network) to activate, but that's common to any solution. See this for some troubleshooting hints'n'tips. http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Get...M/ta-p/7435412 |

Pretty sure giffgaff didn't need a UK card, just a UK address. They can be topped up with credit bought in a UK shop if needed.

Shouldn't think so - it's mobile phone carriers - they aren't the most impressive of businesses.

Give them 7 days notice and get it sent to the first address you stay at.
