Fenton, you little darling...a great resource. I knew about knowhere, but not chavtowns!
Does anyone know why they're called 'chavs'?

Twickenham & St Margarets in Middlesex are great. We moved there from nearby Richmond, Surrey to rent for our last 6 months before coming to Aus and to be truthful I wish we'd done so years ago (we might have even stayed in UK then).

There's the gorgeous riverside walks with a particularly great pub see link:-

We would sit on the pavement in the sun and the water would lap right up to out toes

Also lovely Marble Hill House & grounds for weekend walks with a great cafe & live picnic concerts in the summer link:

I think the whole meaning of "Chav" thing has been covered a few times on here.

Wikipedia has it covered though I think.
